Thank You for Supporting "In America"
A Message from the Production Team
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thank you for taking the time to visit “In America.” We sincerely hope you enjoyed your experience and found the project inspiring. Our deepest wish is that you’ll share your enthusiasm with family, friends, and social media networks who might also connect with the story and its message. Your word-of-mouth and community engagement are invaluable in helping this musical reach new audiences.
Launching a debut performance of a new musical in today’s theater landscape requires immense dedication, energy, and financial resources. That’s why we’re inviting supporters, both in America and internationally, to contribute $10.00–$20.00 to help make “In America” a reality. If successful, our collective effort could make “In America” the first publicly funded musical ever produced in the history of the American theater-a feat that would stand as a testament to the power of community-driven art.
About the Musical
“In America” follows the journey of Mr. Johnson, a first-year English language teacher from New York City, and his diverse class of immigrant students at a community college in San Francisco. No one could have predicted, on that first day of class, how current events would drastically transform the peaceful atmosphere of the classroom by semester’s end. Through the eyes of Mr. Johnson and his students, the musical explores themes of hope, adversity, and the immigrant experience in America.
Why Your Support Matters
A seasoned theatergoer shared, “I’ve seen ‘em all. This script reminds me of the old Broadway classics like “West Side Story” and “Fiddler on the Roof”. In those days, they portrayed immigrants with compassion and told compelling stories through unforgettable songs. “In America” is right up there with ‘em. I can’t wait to see it on stage. If ever there was a new musical that’s Broadway bound, this is it!”
Professor Harper wonders, “Broadway bound? I don’t know about that, but if “In America” could be produced on a theater stage, I believe that it could help introduce a ‘kinder and gentler’ musical aspect of the discussion regarding these issues among the public on both sides of the aisle.”
Join Us in Making History
We are currently reaching out to community members through www.inamericaproductions.com to help bring this large-cast, topical musical to life. The show’s narrative uncovers a seldom-told chapter in the immigrant saga -newcomers enrolling in local schools to learn about their adopted country’s language and culture against a backdrop of budget cuts, anti-immigration sentiment, friendships, and romance.
With your support – whether through contributions, spreading the word, or media outreach – we believe “In America” can successfully take its place on stage among the Broadway greats that have tackled many of the significant social issues of their time. Your generosity will help ensure that this story resonates with audiences in America and around the world for generations to come.
Thank You
Thank you for your invaluable support. We look forward to welcoming you to a future production of “In America” and sharing this monumental performance with you and your loved ones.
Yours truly,
Hal Harper
